2024 is turning out to be just as action packed as 2023, with game changing new developments in the world of AI coming thick and fast.
With that in mind, our 2024 Working Groups are getting underway with AI Governance, Large Language Models and AI Strategy already in progress, and AI for the Environment, AI in Architecture, Engineering and Construction coming soon.
Over the last 12 months, we have been working with collaborators at the BBC to shape this event and its content, and we are very excited to be joined by great supporters at WeCreate, Creative HQ, Wētā FX, Datacom, Meta and EducationNZ.
Hosted over two days in-person in Wellington, and live-streamed from satellite locations across New Zealand and Australia, we will hear from speakers including Kimball Thurston (Wētā FX), Danijela Horak (BBC, UK), Cristóbal Valenzuela (Runway, New York), Laura Ellis (BBC, UK), Grimes and her music producer Daouda.
A big thanks to our sponsors who are helping us to live-stream the event to a number of venues, predominantly Design Schools including Media Design School, AcademyEx, University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington.
We are so looking forward to this event, and we hope that you will join us in person, or online. You can find all the details on our website.
Researching the impact of AI on Productivity
Good data helps us to see where and how Aotearoa New Zealand is using AI, where the opportunities are and where help might be needed.
Partnering with Callaghan Innovation and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington , we are planning a quarterly short survey focused directly on the impact AI is having on productivity in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Measuring the actual impact of AI on productivity is essential, given the speed of development and the potential for competitive edge that it offers. With no equivalent data currently being collected in Aotearoa New Zealand, and limited information of this calibre being produced elsewhere, there is strong interest both domestically and internationally.
There are limited sponsorship opportunities. Register your interest here.
After a sell out crowd in 2023, the Aotearoa AI Summit returns on Wednesday 11 September at the Aotea Centre in Auckland. This is shaping up to be an incredible event, featuring leading industry speakers, informed panel discussions and targeted topics at workshops and roundtables.
