Governance, Risk & Compliance with our AI Forum AEC Governance Team

Event Recording:

About the event:

AI adoption across our industry is accelerating — but governance, policy and risk management are lagging behind.

At the same time:

  • The EU AI Act becomes fully enforceable in August 2026
  • ISO/IEC 42001 is fast becoming a commercial expectation
  • Insurers are starting to differentiate risk based on demonstrable governance

And here in New Zealand, standards and regulatory alignment is picking up pace

This is no longer theoretical. It’s practical, commercial and immediate.

This session is designed to be different.

A forward-looking panel discussion with leaders who are working through governance in real organisations — not just talking about it.

We’ll cover:

  • Why governance is the engine of trust — not just compliance
  • What implementation actually looks like inside an AEC firm
  • The regulatory horizon and what NZ firms need to prepare for
  • How insurers are assessing and pricing AI risk
  • One practical action you can take back to your organisation immediately

Panel includes:

Todd Bowman — CEO, Founder, BAIC, ISO/IEC 42001 AI Management Systems Expert (Moderator)

Maria Mingallon — AI Leader APNA, Mott MacDonald; Chair, AI Forum AEC Working Group

Ben Coulter — Insurance & Risk Perspective, PwC

Hannah Bryce — General Manager, ACE New Zealand

Whether you’re setting AI policy, managing project risk, or simply trying to make sense of what “good” looks like — this session will give you practical, usable insight.

Format: Expert panel with template resources provided

When: Friday 15 May, 9:00–10:30am (online)

Who should attend: Executives, legal counsel, risk/compliance, practice and delivery leads

Recording and slides will be shared with all registrants for online sessions.
