A report from the AI and Law in New Zealand Project. The AI Forum’s 2018 report, Artificial Intelligence: Shaping a Future New Zealand, suggested that adoption of AI in New Zealand Government is currently ‘disconnected and sparsely deployed.’

AI world comes together at Cogx

Greetings from a showery British summertime! I’ve made the trip over to the other side of the world this week, alongside a few other AI Forum members, to attend the 2019 CogX Festival of AI and Emerging Technology in Kings Cross, London. This is the largest gathering of the global AI community, with an estimated 15,000 attendees, 10 stages and 12 topics including healthcare, infrastructure, finance and economy.

Broadening Awareness of AI among New Zealanders

Last week the political leaders of New Zealand, France, Canada, the UK and other countries from around the world joined together with leaders from international technology companies and civil society organisations to adopt the Christchurch Call, exactly two months on from the terrorist attack on Christchurch mosques on March 15th which resulted in 51 people losing their lives.
