Aotearoa AI Hackathon 2026

The AI Hackathon Festival 2026 is a NZ wide festival where teams come together to learn, collaborate and build practical AI solutions that make a real difference. AI For Good. Building Solutions that matter. Running 3–10 August 2026 across Aotearoa, each location hosts a 2 day hackathon where teams pitch to a local judging panel (recorded), with local winners announced at each venue. A national panel then selects four finalists to pitch at the Aotearoa AI Summit (8–9 September, Wellington), where the Summit audience votes for the overall winner. Teams build across five Problems to Solve categories, People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, Partnership, with challenge statements, rules of engagement, judging criteria, and resources shared through the Festival community.
