‘International Dimensions of Artificial Intelligence’ in Canberra brought together an array of experts to discuss how public policy, research and industry are approaching the opportunities and risks of AI in an international context. Session 1, ‘International AI Strategies: Perspectives from Europe & Australia’ included a panel discussion which explored different national approaches, policies and strategies around AI, and included presentations from the European Commission’s perspective, as well as from EU Member States, and the Australian Government. The discussion provided a forum in which experiences and policy directions were shared and different approaches from different jurisdictions compared.
