The recently released Artificial Intelligence and Life in 2030 is the first report from the One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100). Stanford University invited thought leaders to be involved in the 100 year effort to study and anticipate how the effects of artificial intelligence will ripple through every aspect of how people live, work and play.
The AI100 considers the science, engineering and deployment of AI enabled computing systems. The purpose of the AI100’s periodic review is to provide a comprehensive set of reflections about AI as the field advances. The studies are expected to develop assessments to help provide informed guidance for research, development, programmes, policies and systems design to ensure individuals and society benefit.
The first report in the series considers the likely influences of AI in a typical North American city by the year 2030. The eight domains they considered include transportation, service robots, healthcare, education, entertainment, low resource communities, public safety and security, employment and workplace.
